Coltech Zero Rating
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Vodacom, in partnership with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), introduced a zero-rating initiative to support students’ access to learning resources. Under this program, certain educational websites such as student portals, administration portals, and learning management systems (LMS) were made freely accessible without consuming mobile data. This meant that students could browse and interact with these platforms at no cost, ensuring continuity of learning during lockdown restrictions. However, it is important to note that while browsing the zero-rated sites was free, links to watch video in other websites like YouTube will incur normal data charges.
